My name is Michael Angelo Munford (Kappas). I’m looking for information on my grandfather, Gust John Kappas, born 1897 in Sparta Greece, and died in Petersburg Virginia, USA, 1951. He was married to Mabel Claire Knowles
Hey Michael, I think we may be related. My great-grandmother was Artemis Kapasouri (Kappas) from the Sparta region (Gytheio, born 1903) and her brother was named Gus. My mom says he married a non-Greek woman and said Knowles sounded very familiar and that they didn’t leave near our family in Indiana, traveling in from Virginia when she was younger.
