Surnames from the Mitroon Arrenon (Male Register) for Mystras, Laconia, and neighboring villages.
During my visit to the General State Archives office in Sparta in July 2014, I digitized several pages of the Mitroon Arrenon (Male Register) for Mystras, birthplace of my maternal grandmother (Aggeliki Eftaxias). The surnames below are extracted from the pages that I obtained, which is not the complete record. Villages included in these records are: Mystras, Vlachohori, Varsinikos, Pikoulianika, Parori, Katochora, Diaselos.
If your family name is listed below, please contact the GAK office in Sparta for assistance in obtaining copies of the records.
The GAK office email address is: mail@gak.lak.sch.gr

We were in Mystras in Sept of ‘14. On Fri we went to City Hall in Sparta to find genealogy info. No luck. On Sat we did westward loop of the peninsula—Kalamata-Gytheon and back. That night I got your first Spartan Roots which suggested I go to the Archives. Checked there Mon am. Would have had info there if had come on Fri. We were leaving that day. ☹️ Looking for surnames Anastasopoulos, Christeas, Koumoundouros from Mystras. Panagiotis Koumoundouros was born in Kalamata. I have no info from Greece. Could use a jump start. Grandmother was friends with Lambrinos family.
Lambrinos is the name of my children’s grandmother Paoula . She lived in Sparti , married Christos Katsihtis, a teacher in Sparti , and moved to Athens . They had two children Sarantos and Thespina . Both now deceased but 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren survive them .

I was wondering what type of information the GAK would have. I’ve been researching the Perdouklonis family from Mystras and the Allemaggidis family from Parori. The surnames are listed above. Is the GAK receptive to email requests from the USA? Would you know what type of information I would be able to ask for? I appreciate your help. Thanks!
I am researching the Perdouklonis family from Mystras and the Alemaggidis family from Parori. I found the surnames listed above. I’m curious what type of information would the GAK have? Are they receptive to people from USA contacting them via email? What type of information could I ask them for? I appreciate your help.
GAK might have birth, death records, also the ” family trees”, Mitroon Arrenon, a Register for males, Voting Records. Perhaps land, dowry transactions, though thosr are primarily at the Ypothofilakion Spartis, for Mystra area, at least. Municipality Spartis would also have birth, death, family tree- dimotologion. Per. Carol: marriage records for this area are at the Mitropoli Monemvasias and Spartis- where the bishop resides. For Gytheon there us a separate Metropolis and town hall.
